Tuesday’s firmware update increases the build number to 6F25, up from the previous 6F21, released in October 2024. Unlike most firmware updates, this software release is only compatible with the original version of the AirPods Max, which featured a Lightning port.
The newer version of the headphones, which features a USB-C port, did not receive a corresponding firmware update.
